Charming and talented Ali Benson-Smith is a cook, presenter, demonstrator, home economist and food stylist.
Ali has a successful background in the hospitality industry and from college onwards has worked her way prolifically from hotel management to successfully running a number of businesses with her celebrity chef husband John Benson-Smith.
In 1997 they set up the fabulous Hazlewood Castle near Leeds, a former monastery which became a luxurious dining, meeting and accommodation and cookery school venue. Her presence front of house in restaurants and hotels is inspirational and she has engineered successful launches ranging from Manchester, the Channel Islands to the North of England. Her vast experience within the food industry gives Ali a true view and a balanced approach to the world of food.
Immaculate both in character and in her place of work Ali consistently provides her long list of satisfied customers an exacting, exciting, inspiring and professional service which has proved to be a real asset not only to individual establishments but also the food industry in general. Ali has worked with Walkers Sensations Crisps on research and development as “range designer assistant”; she was home economist on the NHS Better Hospital Food initiative “leading chefs” commissioned to develop 48 recipes. At Hazlewood Castle’s popular cookery school she was a presenter and home economist for nine years. Other clients include development work with Nestle chocolate cuisine, Nestle Tomato Coulis endorsement and promotion, Neff, Rosle, Meyer pans, Campbell’s Soup and a successful sandwich range on recipe research and development. Ali recently demonstrated for Marks and Spencer PLC.
In her precious spare time Ali likes to walk her dogs, entertain friends and relax with her family.
