Paul Da-Costa-Greaves
Master Chef of Great Britain Paul Da Costa Greaves is a chef with a difference. Extraordinarily talented and inventive, he combines a magical approach to making and preparing food with great people skills. Colourful, funny and highly original, he brings the most everyday cooking experience to life.
About Paul Da-Costa-Greaves:
`Born in Liverpool, I consist of a cheeky honest mix, reminiscent of natural northern spice. The initial explosive burst of personality & flair is followed through with a wild imagination, delicately layered with sensual middle notes, being excitable, entertaining, inviting, spontaneous, seductive & devilish. Essences of rose, lavender, frankincense & myrrh round off this striking pleasure. I have often been described as colourful, occasionally funny but highly original. I have been told I cook like `a male version of Nigella Lawson`, yet verbally rough like Paul O`Grady! I bring even the most everyday cooking experience to life - dinner parties take on an epic grandeur and picnic brunches become terrifically fun events. I enjoy Talking, Cooking, ‘More Talking’, Socialising, the odd rum & coke at a party or two, theatre when I get time, and a good aerobics class in my past life. Currently working with the cycle of the moon phase for different energies, remembering a new moon is a time of energy & enthusiasm`
Paul has been a chef for twenty years and is now based in Topsham, Devon where his Galley Restaurant is one of the most prized in the area and last year won the “Best Restaurant in Devon and the South West” award. His specialities include fish, vegetarian food and West Indian Cuisine. He says “It is all about creating dreams and feeding the imagination.”
Born in Liverpool of an English Mother and West Indian Father Paul Da Costa Greaves was brought up on a varied diet that included jerk chicken, rice ‘n’ peas and plantain and from this early age his eyes were opened to the world of spices and from the age of four he knew that he wanted to be a chef.
Paul is a Spiritual Healer and an Alternative Therapist and runs his kitchen under the guidance of Zen. He considers cooking to be his art. Paul has developed a range of products – visit www.feeding-your-imagination.co.uk and already it is an award-winning company – the products include a range of fabulous organic essential oil chocolate bars which have been made to unique recipes and flavours include Sexy Chilli, Dreamy Lemon and Geranium.
