Ali Benson-Smith

Chef, presenter, demonstrator, home economist and food stylist, Ali Benson-Smith is passionate about all things related to food.

Ali has a successful background in the hospitality industry and from college onwards has worked her way prolifically from hotel management to successfully running a number of businesses with her celebrity chef husband John Benson-Smith.
Ali presents the celebrity chefs theatres at various Festivals throughout the country in 2011.
In 1997 Ali and John set up the fabulous Hazlewood Castle near Leeds, a former monastery which became a luxurious dining, meeting and accommodation and cookery school venue. She has engineered successful launches from Manchester, Spain, the Channel Islands to the North of England. Her vast experience within the food industry gives Ali a true view and a balanced approach to the world of food.
Ali has consulted with Walkers Sensations Crisps on research and development as “range designer.” She worked on the NHS Better Hospital Food initiative and at Hazlewood Castle’s popular cookery school was a presenter and home economist for nine years. Other projects include development work and demonstrating with household names such as Nestle, Neff, Rosle, Meyer, Philips, Range Rover, Campbell’s and a successful sandwich range. Ali regularly demonstrates for Marks and Spencer PLC.
Ali & John live in Lancashire and in her spare time she loves to walk in the beautiful north west countryside.

Ali presents and dems at celebrity chefs theatres at various Festivals throughout the country, including the Bolton Food Festival in 2011 with James Martin, Gino De Campo and the Hairy Bikers.  She recently appeared in a promotional DVD for home shopping company Kleeneze.
